I like taking pictures of such 'signboards' stucked in cars I see around the campus. They are, obviously, interesting to record =3 It was the beginning of the semester, day 1. I was stressed, moody, not feeling well and all sorts of odds. What a way to start the semester~

Due to the influence of peers, I came to dislike beers. The taste is not really that good, gassy, and it makes you pee a lot >_> On the other hand, if its free, then it would be a different story XD

During the beginning of the last mid semester break, I started to learn make fruit punches with things I can find in my home kitchen. The main ingredient is always slices of apples =3

127/365 : Sunrise at Buntal

Went to Kampung Butal to shoot sunrise on a wonderful Sunday morning with some fellow photographic enthusiats friends. Too bad the sky was toooo cloudy...

Coincidentally, the place where we parked our car is in front of a restaurant where my friends and I had a dinner there few years back in high school when we went there for a three days two nights stay at Damai Beach Resort. Brings back memories....

Attended a meeting with the Explorer's Club as Photomedia & Design Club's representative and liason person. Meeting was about the 'Amazing Race' event and as usual, I'm going to be the photographer but I'm not alone this time, got a team of them XD

I dislikes maths since young. Only when I entered university, I started to study hard as one can easily score by just using formula, replace the "x" with numbers and calculate. Ofcourse this applies to Business Maths rather than Engineering Maths XD

Another very Longgggg Project 365 Post =D

I'm back in photographic-action! Thanks to a friend of mine, Chee Siang for borrowing me his camera, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18. Its not a dslr, but you can adjust the exposure setting like a dslr. The most distinctive feature is the superzoom, 24mm-500mm! Yesh! 500mm! And its sharp at that focal length as well! But image quality wise, its not really pleasing. It creates lots of noise/grains even at ISO 100 @_@ Can't complain, better than no camera to play with at all lah XD

98/365 : Mahjong!

First of all, it was my Birthday, yay =_= Went to attent a friend's engagement event. First time attent a muslim event, so got no idea what was going @_@ but their pineapple with curry is NAIS! =D Then in the afternoon, we hangout at Frank's place and play mahjong =D Friends gave me a "suprise" birthday cheese cake. Why thanks guys, I appreaciate it =)

99/365 : A Warm side of DUN

It was the fisrt time I used the borrowed cam. Had a photo-walk with bunch of friends around riverside area. Shot this pic with "Shade" white balance together with the camera's feature, "Picture Effect - Warm". I think most of the conventional P&S camera has this "Picture Effect" feature but I don't see this in any DSLR though.

100/365 : The late sunshine

Was at my university to online for awhile. My internet router been weird lately. Just notice this is my 100th picture of Project 365! Quite an achievement eh? 265 pics left to go =3

101/365 : Back to gunpla again~

Was bored and it was about time to built my unbuild gunplas. Its BB #191, called 天星大將軍, direct translate, "Sky Star Big General" =3 Got this kit when I went to KK at the end of last year thanks to sbhboi for the tip on the model shop. I believe its a secondhand kit but the plastic wrapping was still sealed and not damaged so the contents are ok. Plus the price was quite cheap too for a kit that has a retail price of 4000 yen.

102/365 : Gunpla Finesh!

Completed the kit. For me, its not something fantastic or bad, just ok ok only. Due to the fact that it's an old kit. Old days SD musha gundams are bulky and full of plated/shiny effect parts, especially for the main charater. Articulation is very very limited. Can't do much with this kit =(

103/365 : Sunrays

There was a photography exhibition happening at the museum and I invited Chee Siang to check it out with me. Then we go on a photo-walk in town area around the old Gambir Street and Indian Street. The sky was nice and there wasn't any clouds so we decided to wait for sunset. The longer we wait, the uglier the sky looks =( It was getting very very cloudy all the sudden. We were determine to wait as weather can change frequently. Saw beautifull sunrays in the sky, snapped few pictures of the beautifull landscape and it began to rain T_T

104/365 : Rain Drops

Went to my university to collect my final exam results but found out that I was given a false information...darn it! Made me nervous all the while =___= Not only that, it rained real hard which spoiled my day even more. Not to let it overcome me, I took my friend's saying - "You can only take rainy pictures during rainy days" Hence I tried my luck on shooting rain drops with a prosumer camera XD By the end of the day, didnt get any rain drop pictures that I really like. Picture below is only a satisfactory pic. The splash is not big enough! =(

105/365: Lets Paint Together

Had to photo-walk with ember around the campus, hunting pictures. We are doing a "project" that I don't think I can explicitly disclose =P Got fed up, went on a little adventure. We visited a nearby chinese temple near our university. I can confidently claim that not many Swinburne students know about the temple XD

Picture below is about two guys painting the building wall. I find it interesting that both of them have about the same body posture =)

106/365 : Its Mahjong Again!

Its Mahjong at Frank's place again. We met up at that place and together we went over to Boulevard check out the COSvention. Basically is an Anime convention, first time in Kuching =3

107/365 : Otaku + Gundam + Anime Girl = Anime Convetion

Went to check out the COSvention again. Took some pictures, look at my friends cosplaying and competing. Thinking back when I was a cosplayer, how crazy things were. However, I quit cosplay long time ago. Its just my interest in it totally faded away and my current interest is ruled by other things like, obviously, photography XD

108/365 : Fireworks Display

Was really looking forward to this event. It was the opening of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Hall. Went to the place like real early, around 4pm just for parking because there were road blocks almost everywhere around the area. We camped at a nice spot, waiting for the fireworks for like, 2-3 hours. When it was about to start, it started to drizzled alittle. Everybody was cursing. Ran to the nearest shoplot for shelter but was full of rage at heart. Ignored the rain and ran out to the road and start shooting. Rain stopped afterwards and moved back to original camp site and continue shooting. Boy, it was the ThE MOST AWESOME fireworks display I ever seen in my entire life! The grand finale was just so just simply breathtaking!

Took the picture below outside the shoplot which explains the people at the bottom of the pic. Chose this pic because it carries much more memorable meaning =)

109/365 : A Good Book

Borrowed this book from my university library. I really got no idea how did this book managed to be on the book shelves. Its really strange to see such book title in a university library. Borrowed, read it and learnt few stuff. Ofcourse, it doesn't mean that I can start making money already. The book has lot of usefull information and resources. Shall buy this book in the future for referrence if I got the extra cash to spare =3

110/365 : I like Sweet Stuff

Was editting pictures while sipping mango juice mixed with vanila ice-cream. Its really sweeeeet! =D

Was DIY-ing a flash diffuser for the borrowed camera from a plastic bag. In the middle of testing it, found this "tigh crop" composition and start playing with studio style lighting =D

Went photoshooting with a bunch of photographers at Kampung Skeduk. We were photographing at the beautifull padi fields.

113/365 : An Old Bowl

This is a very old bowl where my family use it to store dishwashing detergent. I love the unique texture formed by detergent on the "wall" of the bowl. Would love to re-shoot this picture if I ever got myself a macro lens in the future =D

114/365 : Mighty

I'm trying to portray my Strike Gundam with an almighty aura by trying to make a big long shadow. Gues this shot is not quite successful =(

115/365 : Dad' Plantation

My dad loves to plant plants/vege/fruits. This is one of them, sorry, I forgot the name of this vege @_@

116/365 : A common bird and lots of lines

It was a really quick snapshot. After ths first shot, the birdy flew away =( This is the only shot I got but I love the composition though =) Can't get this picture without the borrowed camera's superzoom. It was about at the maximum zoom already. Yeah, its pretty sharp, just the poor noise control makes the camera looks really bad =(

117/365 : Borrowed Equipments

Once again my service is needed to cover the orientation day for the incoming new students of my university. Borrowed the Colonel's prescious gears - Canon EOS 400D with battery grip, Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens, battery charger and memory card reader. Will be busy at covering events for the next three days @_@ And on the following day is the start of my FINAL semester! Yesh! My LAST semester of diploma. Good Bye semester break and Hello final semester! =3

Blog Construction Done

Ok this time I just changed the layout to the normal typical/simple black. My blog has become more of a photoblog now rather than just rants back when this blog just started. Been thinking to create another blog just for photos and leave this blog just for normal blogging on random stuffs. Then again, having one blog is just enough for my current life right now =3

A VERRYYYY LONGGGGGGGG Project 365 Post.

I know, I have been quite slowwwwwwww in my postings. Currently I'm having my semester break for about two weeks now. Heard that the next semester is going to start on the second week of August, such a short holiday =(

Even though my camera is no longer with me, I still got some pictures that I took before it got stolen for my Project 365 just that I haven post them up. So here they are:

74/365 : Pochi in Trouble!

It was Ai Ling(Bunnie)'s Birthday party held at Tom Sensei's place.

Her birthday preseant was a pair of hamsters. She named them Pochi & Mochi. Pochi for the fat male, gray in colour whereas Mochi for the female which is white in colour. It was my first time photographing hamsters, never knew they never stop moving at all. Thus all of my hamster pics are blurred =(

75/365 : Stayed Over

After Bunnie's birthday party, I went over to Frank's place to leech some animesfrom him & Bunnie. Out of the sudden, I decided to stay over at his place along with Anwar. On the following day, woked up, played PS2 with frank the whole morning till noon. We were playing an old Naruto game for like about 4 or 5 hours straight, about 100 plus rounds. And ofcourse I lost very badly, I suck at games terribly =___="

76/365 : Codings

It was about the near end of the semester and I was still clueless of the codes

in one of my subject. The codes are in Visual Basic.NET format. I actually learnt it back in my highschool but that was just the simple methods, more like a brief introduction to the whole coding. Well the problem is I wasn't paying much attention during the lectures. My problem with paying attention to lectures is always related to the lecturers. If I like him/her, I would listen, if not....

Was editing the last day of WSDC photos and there was a sudden blackout.

79/365 : Moved

The hobby shop that I always visit and sometimes help to sell

gunplas has moved to tHe Spring. Initialy, my boss wanted to move to Boulevard but there were issues and he got no choice but to moved to tHe Spring. Some says that moving to spring is not really a good idea for their business but for me, it's really a good thing. Actually I have seen my boss' business growing since he started few years back when he first opened his "shop" together with two friends near my highschool. The "shop" was dominated by one of the friend who runs a cyber cafe which until now is still running. My boss moved to 3rd mile area and rented a shoplot to operate his hobby toys business. Being able to run a hobby toys business that is aim at anime fans in the Kuching for all these years is really impressive. Picture below is not really his new premise. The actual one is located at 4th flour of tHe Spring which is still under construction I heard. Yesh, its weird, a toy shop with stationery sign on top of it.

80/365 : Mah Disco Sensor! =D

I know, Project 365 is all about pictures I take everyday by myself and obviously this is not taken by me because I'm in the pic XD But for my very own Project 365, is about recording my daily happenings. And this particular one is one of the memorable one! Yesh, my camera sensor is busted. You may read more details here.

81/365 : Big Pano Group Photo!

Was invited to cover my university's scholarship award presentation ceremony

by the PR department. Since my camera body is busted, I borrowed the department's camera body, Canon EOS 400D and mount with my personal favourite Tammie lens =D The event was quite a normal one, nothing fancy or spontaneous, its an official event after all. Being the photographer, it was quite bored at first but when comes to the presentation part, its the hard part =( I was at the middle of the hall, standing on four tables put together, photoshooting with the camera on a tripod. Not to brag but aside from seeing the students going up stage receiving their certificates, I was like the center of attention for most of the people =3 For the photoshooting portraitures of award receivers, it was tiring... Even though the camera was on a tripod, my left hand was stablelizing the front lens as its kinda heavy(the tripod I was using was not really a sturdy one =_="), right hand on shutter button and my body was bending forward for my face to look through the camera's viewfinder, shooting about 4++ scholarship awards receivers for about two hours. At the end of the event, it was the group photo taking. Due to the fact that there were like 4++ participants and I don't have a wide angle lens, I was resort to shoot a panorama, take several pictures and stick them together in photoshop =3 I never realy like doing panoramas but got no other choice to do so. The result turns out far better than I expected, details and everything is there just that some of the guys at behind are blocked >_<" Picture below is a shrunk down version, don't bother clicking it, its terrible. Too lazy to upload a big size one.

82/365 : The Mouse~

Had a group assignment meeting today in one of the discussion rooms

at my university's library. Nothing much happened today, just kinda frustrated when comes to group assignments. It all depends on your luck I would say. If you are grouped with people who are keen on trying to get the things done, you are considered lucky, if not, you are unlucky. And I'm the unlucky one. I'm not saying that my group members are full of stupid people(sorry for being rude) but I just don't understand why they can't understand the very simple assigment requirements at all. We are all in the same semester, 3rd year 5th semester, and what I get from group members are blanks. Its not that they don't make an effort, they tried but how come they can't define themselve whether the things they do are correct or not. They are suppose to know what is required and what is supose to be done in order to archive something. I mean, common, you are in 5th semester already, you are suppose to know the basics, if not, how did you gone through the previous semesters? I just don't understand. One more semester to bare...

83/365 : To the Streets

Had a street photography outing with photoborneo peeps at down town. Didn't took much shoot that would satisfy me. I think not more than 5 photos that I really like =3 The rest are just ok ok nia la. You may check them out in my facebook album called "StreetWalk in Kuching". In the picture below, I saw the guy walking down towards my direction from far. I tried to do what other photographers do - "try to predict what is going to happen" and I waited for him to walk down until a good "spot" and *snap*! I'm not really sure about this picture whether it is a good one or not. I just like how "clean" it is. As in there were no other people in the picture and it's a one straight line to the back. Cars were parked at a straight line nicely and the sunlight cast on my subject from the left created nice shadows.

84/365 : Old Keyboard

The keyboard I'm using right now is aged more than 5 fives years. Not exactly sure how old already but in next few years, it's about a decade old now =3 Just look at the stains on the buttons...

85/365 : Flaming

Was invited to Wee Chung's birthday party. At first was kinda inclined to bring

my camera, but it's part of my identity not only to myself but to everyone else. For sure people will ask "Eh Lance, wheres your camera?". To avoid answering such questions, I just bring for show. Didn't took much pic that night, just simply snapping here and there =3

86/365 : A Warm Side of my University

Been practicing shooting commercial shots lately. Look through my university's

brochures, I don't see any picture that shows one of my uni's "unique thing" in the public's eyes. I often heard outsiders talking about the parking building as other local private university don't have such a building specially meant for parking. So its like university's "specialty". Hence, I'm trying to present this "specialty" in a photo, composed as nicely as I could. It was evening, sky was yellowish, wanted to make it warmer so changed the white balance to "Shade". The colour tone and such turns out better than I expected =D

87/365 : Am I doing it correctly?

My friend Colonel got invite to do a class phototaking for an Engineering class.

The lecturer has a habbit of taking her class' photo before the final exams so she can remember her student's faces. I tagged along to helped out a little. He managed to borrowed some equipments from other friends before the shoot. Equipments include a D80, Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, SB800 & SB600. Ofcourse the picture below is not the whole class photo.

88/365 : Reflection

Was at the library trying to do my revision but can't concentrate at all. It happens

to everyone I believe XD The closer the exam is, the harder for you to concentrate. After that went down to lobby at meet up with Colonel for shooting, shoot anything. Composed the picture below in split section, didn't wanted to let the guy notice me. Love the reflection but the guy is out of focus... =____="

89/365 : Debate

Went to the Debater's Club weekly meeting. It was close to the exams

so not many people turned out. I tried debating for the first time that day. After covering the WSDC09, all I observed about debate is using points tackle points. If can't tackle the opponent's points, shoot back more points. However I can't think of a lot of points in just that few minutes of preparation time so I spoke like err...4 minutes? lol... Well even my opponents were debating for the first time as well, so it was like a fair and square debate XD Guy below is Kevin, knew him when I was in the student council last year.

90/365 : Two Screens One Coke

There was a time when a Facebook game Restaurant City became a hype

in my university's facebook sphrere and it got into me. Don't wanna get distracted with the game or any other online stuff so used my dad's laptop to do my research assignment. Had a can of coke with me to make myself awake but it didn't help that much. Seems like I'm immune to caffeine =3 *purposely turned off the lights to make the picture more "dramatic"*

91/365 : Tamama!

Its a time where anybody who participates this Project 365 will encounter - the frustration to just get the day's pic done and just cincai shoot a pic. It was near end of the day and my mind was clueless on what to shoot for my project. In the end, I just randomly grab a plastic model(Tamama in this case), turned off the lights and just cincai do a light trail around Tamama. When I viewed this picture on my LCD screen, I realized that its full of spider webs =( But meh! too lazy to do a re-shoot.

92/365 : Moping the Bridge

Was walking around my campus hunting for a picture and found a cleaner

moping the bridge. I stopped, put down my files and bag, grabbed my cam from bag and shoot. It all happened instantly and when I'm done, I realized my lens' is all forgy due to condensation from coming out of an aircon environment. Picture colour was all pale, forgy and basically, it's ugly. Ditched the colour, convered it into black & white and it turns out nicely. Too bad my subject is very small... Wish there is a 17-150mm f/2.8 lens made just for me =D

93/365 : Camera Talks

A photography talk organized by the Photomedia & Design Club I'm involved in my university. It all started off with Alvin giving his talk on how did he stated as a wedding photographer and followed by a talk on Canon products. Alvin invited some models from Breeze magazine for participants to try out portraiture with studio setting. I didn't participate much on the model shoot as I was busy with event coverage =S

94/365 : Enjoying My Ride

Once again, hunting pictures in the evening after my clases around the campus. I always wanted to take pictures of our security guards riding their bikes around the campus at this hour. Its an interesting sight for me, looking at people trying to enjoy/destress in the middle of their work. It's nothing flashy or big but worth a scene to be captured =)

trying to shoot whatever I don't see in the brochures =3 Actually there were only two birds in the pic, I duplicated them just to 'decorate' it XD

96/365 : Booze!

It was Gawai and we visited our friend Annatasia. It was quite a big group of us and

almost everyone of us enjoyed the alcoholic beverage. Two of my friends were completely wasted, one of them keeps on cursing/complementing at people randomly while the other keep talking non-stop about anything. Another friend was half drunk, he was aware of what is going on but keep on laughing really hard over anything. Never seen him lauhing so hard ever since I knew him @_@ Guy below was very happy holding the bottle but in fact he was one of the drunkards =3

97/365 : Sing with me!

Was the officialy covrage photographer for my university's Info day last week.

Borrowed a Canon EOS 400D from the PR department and start snapping away. Its been awhile since I last covered an event. My skills got kinda rusty. I was slow and didn't get to shoot much. Didn't quite covered the whole event. Even though I got some nice photos but wasn't quite satisfied with my work.

My Project 365 will stop here until I got a new camera or maybe borrow a friend's camera to snap a pic or two in order to continue the project a little.
