Woke up to a yellowish morning sky
Everyone has/will faced the time to make an important decision that will change the his/her future and now its my turn. With 21 years of existence, living in this world, I can only conclude that there are two types of decisions. One is decided by the brain and another is by the heart. The way brain thinks is very...precautious. Its the safer and content path. While the heart is the risk taker. Its fun, daring, random but on the other hand, its dangerously risky. Its like in the old cartoons whereby there is an angel on one side of your shoulder telling you to do the right thing and a devil on the other side telling you to be naughty.
So how to decide? Which to path choose?
I don't know. I really don't know.

The very first light of 2010
It has come to an end for the year 2009 and now we look forward for the year of 2010, Twenty-Ten. Sounds catchy doesn't it?
Many things happened during this 365 days of 2009. Owh yeah...my project 365 >_> Don't worry, I'm still doing it, just too lazy to post them up. I'm a one hell of a lazy bum. I know.
First of all, I have finished my diploma of business course. Hopefully. Still waiting for the results. But to think that I have completed this three years course... wow. I wouldn't say I struggled, in fact, I didn't really put much effort into it. More like just following with the flow and let the time pass until I get the piece of paper. During the beginning of the first semester, there were 20+ students enrolled, but now, there are only three students, including me, completing the course. Seems like I'm not fit to take this course to begin with. Should have just directly enroll for degree. The course is not exactly easy but just simply straight forward for my understanding. It did opened up my mind, changed how I look at few things and think differently, in the business world ofcourse. Learnt few things. Things that are trivial yet important at the workplace where people assumed that these things are a 'common knowledge'.
I hate accountings...
People keep asking me why did I take diploma instead of a degree seeing how I'm doing. I would reply - "I wanna do things slowly." or more correctly, "Because I'm lazy." The truth is always 'ugly' in some certain ways. Thanks to that reason, I picked up an interest which I would never imagine that it would have such a development in my life. A Life-changing Interest some would say. That is correct. Photography. A single word that carries lots of deep, meaningful and yet beautiful definition. A single word that changed how I look at everything thing around me. A single word that convinced me that there is beauty in everything. Most important of all, a single word that makes me even more stingy with my money... photography is sooo expensive.... *cries*
The very first picture I took with my long gone 1000D
I'm always volunteering on event coverage services to club events in my university. I have also covered several official events from my university. Due to my active involvedment, I'm now one of my university's photographer. Some of my photos are bought as well to be used for advertising purposes. Some people thought that I got too much free time. Some says I don't understand the artsy-fansy photography and hence, I photograph the easy/boring stuffs, waisting my camera's shutter count. Why do I put so much effort in this? Its pretty simple. I desire a career in photography while others just wanna stay as hobbyists. As simple as that. And personality, I think event coverage photography is one of the hardest area in photography as compared to other areas like landscape, wildlife, macro, etc etc. Everyone would say its easy! Just shoot whatever is happening and thats it! But I'll ask, does your picture carries an impact? Does it makes your viewers to look at it a few seconds longer? Does it make them think about it for a moment? Will they treat your picture like how they treat others on the papers or magazine, glance once and flip the page?
What I always do when covering events @_@

1000D's live view is disco-ing :3
Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not saying other photography fields are easy. Lets say I wanna take a picture of a tiger. I travel to the exortic jungle, camouflage myself with the nature, stalking the animal from the shadows, taking its pictures. Go back to my home sweet home, starring at the pictures I captured on my big LCD screen in detailed. Dissatisfied. Nevermind. Reshoot. Second attempt still can't get the picture I dreamed off. Don't give up. Reshoot. It doesn't matter how much I spent on the travel, accomodation, food, or how much time I spent stalking that animal. I can ALWAYS RESHOOT. However, when comes to events, once its over, its over. No matter how much money or time, I can't get the moment back again. I can't go back to the grand opening of some shopping mall. I can't go back to the competition I covered few months ago. Thus, I say event coverage photography is one of the hardest photography area. In other words, you are photographing something that is not repeatable. Ofcourse, the challange to create a 'good' picture is much higher. If there is something that is harder to archive, there will be a higher level of satisfaction awaits at the end.
Swinburne Prom Night 2009
I have also developed an interest in street photography =)

After so much passion I had for this interest that is growing in me for the year, an unfortunately case happened. My camera got stolen. Hurt me deep that time. Slightly depressed. A good friend borrowed me his camera temporary as a cure for the pain of being camera-less. Its a pro-sumer camera with superzoom. Had lots of fun with it for few months. If I ever have the extra cash, I would get one of these superzooms in the future. Its really fun for someone as lazy as me XD
Sunrays at Waterfront
Thanks to my parents and my stingy savings, I got myself a secondhand camera, Canon EOS 40D. It pretty decent and love it. Would use it for as long as I could. It will be the camera that starts my career and looking forward for that day. Talk about photography career, I intend to walk the path of wedding photography, the photojournalistic type. Because I think its quite an honorable job that many don't think that way. I wanna record other people's life experience, emotionally and artistically. I wanna create pictures where couples would reminisce how their romance once were after few decades of their marriage. That is why I say I picked up Life-changing Interest =)
My new girlfriend, I call her Lynn!
"I'm a happy man now =D"

Ofcourse in the year of 2009, its not all about pictures. I made lots of interesting friends. I witness lots of explainable things. Did lots of random things. Experienced happy, sad, depress, etc etc. Sadly I'm still single... T_T Hopefully can get a girlfriend this year XD Currently I'm trying to start my freelance career to get some cash and experience before my degree starts.
I think I'll stop here for now. I know. I talk/type too much at times.
Thanks for reading and happy new year =)
